PlugBear is Now Runbear

We are excited to announce a significant change at PlugBear. After much consideration and feedback, we are renaming our product to Runbear. This change aligns our product with the name of our company, enhancing our brand identity and coherence.

Why the Change?

• Consistency: Runbear is the name of our company, and we want our flagship product to reflect that unity.
• Growth and Evolution: PlugBear started as a weekend project inspired by OpenAI’s first DevDay announcement last year. Since then, it has evolved into a beloved tool that many of you use and rely on.
• Improved Naming: While PlugBear is a name that describes its function of plugging LLM apps into daily tools, we believe Runbear sounds better and will help us build a stronger brand.

What to Expect:

• Transition: Existing app configurations will continue to work as they currently do. For Slack, all existing connections will need to use @Runbear instead of @PlugBear. For other integrations, including MS Teams and Discord, we will gradually migrate the mention handle from PlugBear to Runbear. This change won’t affect customers who have already customized their mention handle.
• New Website: Our new website will be runbear.io. Starting from 21 July, plugbear.io will be redirected to runbear.io.
• Unchanged Foundation: The people and company behind the product remain the same. Our commitment to delivering high-quality service continues unchanged.
• Addressing Confusion: We understand that changing the name may cause immediate confusion, but we believe this change will make our product sound better and be more future-proof.
