Set up a Slack AI agent in three steps

  1. 01

    Describe the job

Tell Runbear in plain English what the agent should handle, such as answering policy questions or triaging support requests.

  2. 02

    Connect knowledge and tools

Add Notion, Google Drive, Confluence, or a website as knowledge, and pick the tools it can act in from 2,000+ integrations.

  3. 03

    Add it to Slack

Install from the Slack Marketplace and invite the agent to a channel. It always answers @mentions and DMs, and you can also turn on replies to keywords or to every new message.

Rolling it out to a whole team? One agent can serve every channel, and tools connected with per-user auth act with each person's own account. See shared AI agents for teams.

AI where your team already works

Runbear's AI agents live directly inside Slack, Teams, Discord, and more — no switching tabs, no new interfaces. Just faster work in the tools you already use every day.

Slack AI agent FAQ

Sign up for Runbear, describe what the agent should do in plain English, connect the tools it needs, and add it to Slack with one click. The agent then answers in the channels you invite it to. There is no Slack app to build, no server to host, and no prompt engineering required.

No. Runbear installs from the Slack Marketplace, so you approve one app instead of registering your own bot, scopes, and hosting. Runbear runs the model calls for you; on the Business and Enterprise plans you can bring your own LLM key if you prefer.

Yes. Connect Notion, Google Drive, Confluence, SharePoint, a website, or past Slack conversations as knowledge sources, and the agent answers from them in the thread. Beyond knowledge sources, it can call actions in 2,000+ tools such as HubSpot, Linear, Zendesk, and Salesforce.

On the Claude Agent SDK runtime, the usual default, each agent can run on Claude, GPT, or Gemini models, and you pick the model per agent. Other runtimes offer a narrower set.

Yes. By default the agent answers @mentions and direct messages, and it can keep replying in a thread it has joined. In a channel you can also turn on Reply without @mention, which answers every new message, or Trigger by keyword, which answers messages that contain words you choose.

No. Slack AI and Slackbot are Slack's built-in assistants, tied to your Slack plan. A Runbear agent is a shared teammate you configure yourself: you choose its instructions, model, knowledge sources, and the tools it can act in, and the whole channel uses the same agent.

Runbear charges by usage, not by seat. One subscription covers every teammate who uses your agents in Slack or Microsoft Teams. Plans include a set number of builders, the members of your Runbear organization who create and manage agents in the dashboard: 5 on Team and 10 on Business. Usage is metered in credits, based on the tokens each model call uses and the model you choose for each agent. Team is $99 per month with 20,000 credits, and Business is $399 per month with 100,000 credits.

Stop being the bottleneck. Start being the leader.

Your team needs your judgment, not your availability. Let Runbear handle the first pass so you can focus on the work that actually matters.
