How to add an AI agent to Microsoft Teams

  1. 01

    Create the agent

Describe what the agent should handle, connect knowledge such as SharePoint, Notion, or Google Drive, and pick the tools it can act in.

  2. 02

    Install Runbear in Teams

On the agent's Chatbots tab, choose Microsoft Teams. Install the Runbear app from Microsoft AppSource and add it to a team or group chat.

  3. 03

    Complete setup

The bot posts a card with a Complete Setup button. Click it, name the connection in Runbear, and the agent is live in that team or chat.

The same agent can serve Microsoft Teams and Slack at once. If your company works in Slack, see how to build a no-code AI agent for Slack, or read about shared AI agents for teams that everyone in a channel can use.

Microsoft Teams AI agent FAQ

Create an agent in Runbear, open its Chatbots tab, and choose Microsoft Teams. Install the Runbear app from Microsoft AppSource, add it to a team or group chat, then click Complete Setup on the card the bot posts. You don't register or host a bot yourself.

It always answers @mentions and direct messages. Each team or chat you deploy to is its own connection on the agent's Chatbots tab, with its own trigger settings.

Yes. Instead of the shared @Runbear bot, you can build a branded bot with your own name, icon, and description. A three-step wizard creates it in your Microsoft tenant and Azure subscription, and it works the same way as the Runbear bot.

On the Claude Agent SDK runtime, the usual default, each agent can run on Claude, GPT, or Gemini models, and you pick the model per agent. The same agent can also be deployed to Slack.

Runbear charges by usage, not by seat. One subscription covers every teammate who uses your agents in Slack or Microsoft Teams. Plans include a set number of builders, the members of your Runbear organization who create and manage agents in the dashboard: 5 on Team and 10 on Business. Usage is metered in credits, based on the tokens each model call uses and the model you choose for each agent. Team is $99 per month with 20,000 credits, and Business is $399 per month with 100,000 credits.

Stop being the bottleneck. Start being the leader.

Your team needs your judgment, not your availability. Let Runbear handle the first pass so you can focus on the work that actually matters.
